Upcoming Classes: Feb 4th 6-8pm, Mar 4th 6-8pm
If you have ever wondered about keeping bees or just wanted to learn about ways to get involved, join us for Intro to Beekeeping. We will go over the costs, logistics, and initial knowledge needed to start your own hives, as well as the basics of honey bee biology and behavior. The class will focus on urban beekeeping but most information will easily crossover for suburban or rural beekeeping as well.
This class is a brief overview and primer for our full Beginner's Beekeeping Course. A great way to dip your toe in the water before committing to the full course.

Due to the COVID-19, we are presenting all classes via video conferencing for the foreseeable future. Students will receive the video conferencing link as well as digital materials prior to the class. You must have a computer and internet connection to attend these virtual classes.
FAQs
How do tickets work?
We've cut the cost of the tickets by $5 and made ticketing per household as opposed to per person. We encourage you to take the class at home with your significant other, kids, or whoever is in your household.
Due to COVID-19, we do not encourage taking the class with anyone with who you do not already cohabitate. They would need to purchase their own ticket. Please be smart and follow pandemic-related precautions.
Is there a minimum age requirement to attend?
No. This class is recommended for ages 13+, however, children are welcome to watch. Please note that kids' ticket pricing is not available. All tickets are general admission.
What does a virtual event mean?
It means that we will be streaming this class online as an interactive virtual event. You can enjoy this class from the comfort of your own home. We use Zoom to stream classes and all students will need to install the Zoom app on their computer. Once you receive the class link, you will be prompted to download and install the app. It's a very easy process.
What do I need to bring to the event?
You're welcome to have some writing materials handy, however, we will provide a digital informational handout with the bullet points we cover in class.
How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
You can always drop us a line at hello@astorapiaries.com with any questions. We'd love to talk with you.
What's the refund policy?
Refunds are not available for this class. Please look over the description and contact us with any questions or concerns before you purchase your ticket.
If you purchase a ticket and cannot make it, you may transfer the ticket to another person or move your ticket to another available date. Please contact us at least 24 hours before the class to make changes to your ticket. If you do not make prior arrangements, tickets will be considered used even if you miss the class.
