Shipping + Returns

Shipping Policy

Orders typically ship via USPS within 1–2 business days and arrive within 5 days. You'll receive a tracking number once your order has been processed. If there are any significant delays, we’ll notify you.

  • Flat Rate Shipping: $7

  • Free Shipping: On orders over $65

  • Carrier Delays: If your order hasn’t arrived within 5 business days of receiving your tracking number, please contact us so we can open a case with USPS on your behalf.

Important: If your package is returned to us as Undeliverable or Returned to Sender, you will be responsible for paying the full cost of reshipping, which may exceed the flat rate.

Free Local Pickup

Local customers may choose free pickup at The Honey House at Astor Apiaries in Astoria, Queens. Select “Pickup” at checkout.

  • Most orders placed during business hours will be ready within an hour, but please wait for the ready-for-pickup email before stopping by.

Returns

Our return policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. To be eligible for a return, items must be:

  • Unused

  • In original packaging

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase

Non-returnable items include:

  • Perishable goods (e.g., food, flowers)

  • Any honey or food product without tamper-proof packaging (such as breakaway tabs or shrink seals)

  • Intimate or sanitary products

  • Hazardous materials or flammable liquids/gases

  • Gift cards

  • Downloadable software

  • Some health and personal care items

Please do not send returns to the product manufacturer.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, we’ll notify you of approval or rejection. If approved, your refund will be processed back to your original payment method.
Partial refunds may be issued at our discretion. If rejected, we will return the product to you at your shipping cost once paid.

Late or Missing Refunds

If your refund hasn’t arrived:

  1. Check your bank account and credit card company.

  2. Contact your bank—some refunds take extra time to post.

Exchanges

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. Email us at hello@astorapiaries.com to initiate an exchange. Send returns to:

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a digital gift card for the return value if eligible. If it wasn’t marked as a gift, the refund will go to the original purchaser.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. These are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund, if applicable.

  • Consider using trackable shipping or insurance for items over $75—we cannot guarantee receipt of returned items.

Event Ticket Policy

All event purchases are final.

  • If an outdoor event is cancelled due to weather, ticket holders may:

    • Transfer their ticket to a similar upcoming event (subject to availability), or

    • Receive a refund in the form of a digital gift card.

We do not offer cash or card refunds for events under any circumstance.
