A Sweet Collaboration with Cakes by Nerwan

Back in August 2019, Astor Apiaries was lucky enough to be featured as the cover story of local magazine, BORO. Also featured in this issue was a new cupcake shop in the neighborhood, Cakes by Nerwan. I had passed the shop before and even gotten a cupcake or two, so I thought I’d go in and introduce myself to the baker, Nerwan Khalife.

We met and after talking about our small business experiences, we got onto the subject of collaboration and realized honey and cupcakes make for a perfect match. Following our meeting we sent over some of our NYC Raw Honey and let Nerwan do what she does best.

The result is the Sweet Bee, a very tasty cupcake that lets the flavor of our NYC Raw Honey shine through. Made with a tangy honey-vanilla cream cheese buttercream frosting atop a delicate vanilla sponge, each cupcake comes with a honey dropper to let you drizzle the right amount of honey on each bite.
